4 charming guest-rooms
our history. . .
Originally, in the 16th Century, the hamlet of Lalande was little inhabited with only a few hearths surrounding a well (where now stands the large plane tree in front of the house). At the end of the 17th Century successive owners settled in Lalande and all contributed to a homogeneous feeling of friendliness and welcome. For two centuries they built this heritage creating and developing a warm and familial atmosphere for future generations.
We wanted to revive the domain of our ancestors – our guest-rooms are named after the occupants who came before us – and share with our guests, the domain’s past history, its memories and its walks in the grounds surrounded by two hundred year old trees.”
Before our grandfather passed away, he wrote these lines for his descendants:
"To my grandchildren,
The oldest amongst you, my dear little ones, are still at play in the corridors of this old house or in the sand of the park’s alleyways. In a few years you will drive through the lanes of the plain, where I rode in the donkey drawn cart, one of the great pleasures of my childhood.
Later, as young men and young women, you will read these pages that your grandfather wrote whilst thinking of you. If they play a part in your feelings of affection for this old family house and its surroundings, your old grandfather at the end of his life, will feel that he has not worked in vain."
