For mountain walking for those who enjoy open spaces, the Hautes-Alpes in Saint Véran, the highest situated commune in Europe, where "the rooster recks at the stars". Here, you can stay in family run lodgings, Le gîte de l‘Estoilie et ses ânes. Donkeys can be hired to transport your luggage.
A 300 m, Les chalets du villard, a chalet divided into apartments. A warm and friendly atmosphere, will be the starting point for hiking, snow shoeing and skiing in the winter.

Emmanuelle, aux Poteries de Lhuis awaits you at Lhuis in Ain, where one can create pottery objects;
Further east, in Alsace, the B&B La parpaillote at Boersch near Strasbourg with its Christmas market.

If you like oysters and bathing in the Channel inspires you, then le gîte de Céline near to Saint Malo (a large house with garden and tepee - 10/12 persons with direct access to the sea) is for you.

Back in the South: the arena of Nimes, the Pont du Gard, the “Bambouseraie d’Anduze” with the sea close by, the Camping **** de Massereau in Sommières (Gard).
